SUMMARY:Visualizing Multidimensional Health Status of Data Centers
DESCRIPTION:Tommy Dang (Texas Tech University)\n\nMonitoring data centers
is challenging due to their size, complexity, and dynamic nature. This pro
ject proposes a visual approach for situational awareness and health monit
oring of high-performance computing systems. The visualization requirement
s are expanded on the following dimensions: 1) High performance computing
spatial layout, 2) Temporal domain (historical vs. real-time tracking), an
d 3) System health services such as temperature, CPU load, memory usage, f
an speed, and power consumption. To show the effectiveness of our design,
we demonstrate the developed prototype on a medium-scale high-performance
computing system of 10 racks and 467 hosts. The work was developed using f
eedback from both industrial and academic domain experts.\n\nTag: Data Ana
