SUMMARY:A Deferred Correction Coupling Strategy for Cosmological Simulati
 ons
DESCRIPTION:Jean M. Sexton (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory)\n\nWe p
resent a strategy for coupling the equations of baryonic gas dynamics to t
hose for radiative heating and cooling in the context of Nyx, an N-body +
gas dynamics code for large-scale cosmological simulations. The radiative
and advective processes have differing time scales. To avoid Strang splitt
ing errors, we couple the processes with a simplified spectral deferred co
rrection strategy. Preliminary results indicate that the improved coupling
strategy improves stability and reduces the cost of integrating the heati
ng and cooling terms for our Lyman-alpha forest test case.\n\nTag: Diversi
