SUMMARY:Title: Distributed Memory Fast Fourier Transforms in the Exascale
 Era
DESCRIPTION:Samar Aseeri (King Abdullah University of Science and Technolo
gy)\n\nIn this project, we plan to improve the implementation of the Fast
Fourier Transform (FFT) on emerging high-performance computing architectur
es and galvanize the international community of experts to benchmark our a
nd their efforts, leading the faster and more efficient adoption of the be
st FFT software Technology.\n\nFFT is an accurate low computational cost a
lgorithm that is widely used for high-performance computing and engineerin
g applications and it will still be needed on exascale computers. The impl
ementations of the FFT (and other fast transforms) require many long-range
interprocessor communications, which are a parallelization bottleneck. Th
erefore, the identification of alternative algorithms to the FFT along wit
h comparisons of efficiency will lead to optimal use of high-performance c
omputers. In this lightning talk, I will highlight the project objective,
approach, and expected outcome.\n\nTag: Diversity, Education, Hot Topics\

lel Computing Centre (EPCC); University of Edinburgh, Scotland); and Misba
 h Mubarak (Amazon Web Services)\n\n
