  developed by researchers with a combined expertise in both programming an

 er/scientists are indispensable, they often do not have formal career path
 s, and often lack recognition within academia.\n \nResearchers in these ro
 les are often designated Research Software Engineers in the UK, US, and Eu
 rope, with the term also gaining traction around the world. This BoF aims 
 to raise awareness of the role and bring the community together to address
