SUMMARY:Workloads and Benchmarks for System Acquisition
DESCRIPTION:Neil Bright (Georgia Institute of Technology), Laura Brown (US
Army Engineer Research and Development Center), Henry Neeman (University
of Oklahoma), and Alex Younts (Purdue University)\n\nNew HPC systems must
balance storage, networking, and computational power to meet the different
needs of its user base and intended usage. Government agencies, universit
ies, and companies invest significant time, effort, and money when evaluat
ing and acquiring new HPC systems. Unfortunately, many of these evaluation
s are duplicated from site-to-site. This BoF aims to start a best-practice
s collaboration between HPC sites to reduce the effort required to make go
od system evaluations. This session’s leaders will engage with the audien
ce to discuss practical solutions to system benchmarking and evaluation fo
r acquisition purposes.\n\nTag: State of the Practice\n\nRegistration Cate
